Consejos para mejor GPS Android

A common problem with devices Android through the Board seems GPS performance. Despite the different devices and manufactured products, this is a common complaint among Android owners and unfortunately the cause may be different depending on the device. The GPS signal in Android devices can be very intermittent and sometimes drops the signal or have problems in the blockade. Here are some tips to help solve this problem.

Empty the cache of map

Depending on which navigation application uses, such as Google Maps, can empty the cache of map to help get a better lock and a faster response time when using GPS. You can find and clear your cache by going to manage applications and from the menu choose filter-> show all. This will display all applications on the device. Select each application that uses GPS and clear your cache.

If this does not clear up the problem, it may be a problem with the connection data. The device may not have the correct information to connect to the satellites needed to use the GPS, which is causing the connection problem.

Use assisted GPS

Assisted GPS (AGPS) is used by smart phones more these days and is a method of using cell towers to assist in the location of the signal. This method of location is less precise than the true location of GPS, but it is faster because the GPS module do not need to connect to a satellite before that can begin to look for him. Assisted GPS is also useful if you don't have clear skies and can not be put in contact with a satellite.

Assisted GPS will also make use of Wi-Fi networks available to help locate the location that can dramatically change the amount of time it takes to provide its position.

To activate the GPS assisted on your Android device, go to settings of-> security & location settings and check the box to activate the assisted GPS.

Please note that constantly seeks to assisted GPS and connect to cell towers as this feature is, create a notable decline in the battery. This is probably a feature that don't want to leave enabled but is certainly useful when the device is used for navigation.

If you still have problems with the GPS after the AGPS is switched on, you can try to restore the assisted GPS data.

Using the tools & State GPS

Sometimes the problem continues because the satellite data which holds the phone and torres are incorrect for your location. The State of GPS & Toolbox is an application available on the Android market and is used to delete and re-download the AGPS data. This can help your device acquire the correct towers and updated information of satellite. Once you have downloaded the app, here are the steps to get the new data:

When you start the application, you will see a compass and statistics data from your phone. Make sure that you have an active data connection.
Go to manage the State of A-GPS.
In the menu, click Download.
Exit the app when you are finished.

This will remove all information from satellite and old Wi-Fi on your device and download the most relevant data for your current location. Now check your navigation application to see if you can get a location lock. This process should be much faster.

The disadvantage of this process is that it will probably have to repeat on a regular basis. Any time your GPS begins to act, you need to download new AGPS data using the GPS Status & Toolbox annoying app. but a small price to pay to make navigation work properly.

If your GPS is still does not work correctly after downloading new AGPS data, its only recourse may be root on your phone and flash a new ROM or radio to your device. This can make your GPS more reliable as some ROMs have configuration settings that can be used to make the radio work better. Although this step may be extreme for some to fix your GPS and it can be a little risky, it can sometimes make your device work better, if you are prepared to deal with the consequences of rooting your device to make this happen.

Hopefully working through these steps you're able to get a better GPS signal and a faster lock. Remember that if your device continues to act you need to continue the implementation of tools & GPS State to restore the connection details. Given that this problem seems worse on some Android devices than others, you may also consider change devices if not get GPS to work reliably.
