Android home screen is like your desktop: is where you used and organizes your applications so that it is more effective for you.

Because you go to the home screen after pressing the Home button, you should take the shortcuts to your most used applications. Out of the box, Google makes some of the most used applications (maps, Gallery, YouTube, market, phone, Gmail, browser and voice) in the House, along with two widgets: the elegant search box of Google through the new widget news and weather at the bottom and the top.

Customize your Android screen with themes and Widgets

The best feature of the initial screen is that it is completely customizable.

Long-press a shortcut, widget, or whatever, and a slight vibration (known as haptic feedback) tells you that can move this item. Longpress an empty space in the home and you will be prompted to add a shortcut, widget, folder or wallpaper to that screen.

In addition to applications, Nexus One home screen can display widgets, which are applications that display dynamic information on the home. Power control is another useful widget that allows you to change various settings of Nexus One; many other widgets show everything from watches to the weather to your Twitter timeline.

Another great feature of Android home screen is that there are five of them, when you fill your main home screen (as it will be inevitably), can easily add applications and widgets in any of four additional home screens of the Nexus One. Simply swipe your finger from left or right to move to the additional screens.

To fill all five initial screen, you are stop. Android 2.1 now has only five home screens that you can customize with shortcuts, but the only limit to the number of applications that you can save on your phone is the amount of memory in the same.

If you forget that home screen is a particular application, you can invoke a thumbnail view of cold to touch the points left in the bottom of the screen. When you do, you will see five home miniature display, with widgets and app thumbnail icons.

When you see your application, touch its thumbnail to be taken directly to the home screen. Good stuff.

Management of applications and widgets

When you want to remove an app or widget from the House (and it will happen), just long - press its icon. You will notice that the grey Launcher icon turns into a trash can. Simply drag the item's icon to the trash out of his house. The icon and the trash can be red when touched, confirm the deletion.

This procedure does not remove the application from your phone-only the shortcut or alias to the app. To permanently remove or uninstall an application you downloaded the Android jargon, just follow these steps:

1. Launch of Android Market.

2. Press the Menu button.

3. Touch downloads.

4. Scroll to the application that you want to uninstall.

5. Press the button uninstall.

You can also manage applications touching settings > applications > manage applications and then touch the name of the application to open the application information screen. On this screen, you can press the button manage space to manage the amount of space that uses the application or press the button uninstall to uninstall an update of the application that is causing problems...

Using the Launcher

The home screen is where to store applications, shortcuts and widgets. Touch the reticular icon in the center of the bottom of the home screen, open the Launcher, that displays a scrolling list of all the applications installed on your Nexus One.

Applications are sorted alphabetically. You can scroll through them vertically by moving up or down anywhere within the screen. You can launch an application from this screen by clicking on its icon or by pressing the trackball when the app icon is highlighted.
