How to install the Android with Eclipse SDK

The Android operating system is becoming a very popular operating system for mobile phones. Android phone system is growing rapidly and every cell phone company now has at least one Android phone in their lineup. Every cell phone manufacturer is also jumping onto the bandwagon. The number of applications available for Android phones is now more than 20,000.

How to install the Android with Eclipse SDK

The following are the steps to install android 2.0.1 SDK in eclipse for the first time if you want to start developing Android applications.

(1) Install java 6 SDK from the java website. If you already have installed an SDK be sure that is at least java 5 SDK

(2) Install Eclipse 3.5 Classic from the eclipse Web site downloads section. If you already have eclipse installed make sure that it is at least eclipse 3.4

(3) Download the SDK of andor more recent from android Developer Web site. Unzip the package to a location to remember and not delete. Then add this location to the system path.

(4) Install the ADT plugin for eclipse with the following instructions. From the Web site for Android developers
