¿.. .but that how far will go this time?

Robots have always been great in science fiction. And androids, appearing the human ' robots are even more popular. Android usually refers to the masculine form and the term gynoid refers to the female form. But, surprisingly, have been large gaps in the history of science fiction, where androids and robots do not show, despite are universally beloved.

Surprisingly, the android Word precedes the word robot for almost two centuries. He appeared for the first time as androids in the Oxford English Dictionary in 1738, referring to an automaton. Its etymology derives from the Greek word "andros" means man. The French writer, Villiers, used the word, android, in L'eve future, a novel published in 1886, which popularized the word.

The word robot used for the first time in a play by Czech playwright Karel Capek in 1921 and opened the floodgates of science fiction. But nothing happened for twenty-nine years until Isaac Asimov captured the imagination of the audience with his landmark book I, Robot in 1950. The book grew out of nine stories Asimov originally wrote for magazines Super science stories and Astounding Science Fiction Magazine in the 1940s. He coined the term, a word referring to the technology of robot robotics. So the tide was with book after book robot Asimov wrote.

But the ' tide bot ebbed and flowed it with names like: Gort, Robbie, HAL, Cylon, R2-D2 and data, high water marks batting. Minor credits going to Westworld, Star Trek, y.RoboCop. During the last twelve years, the tide has been low.

But witness the renewed interest in robots, with the recent emergence of Robopocalypse, writtten by Daniel H. Wilson, a magician today himself. A history of robots, already in our system, in form of home and business controls, credit ' bots and decide how to make war to mankind. Director Steven Spielberg is considering the possibility of guiding it.

What if we took a look fresh and new on the potential here, created a race of androids and gynoids and integrated into society to live and work? What happens if they lifted present in society, mainly by example, but we gave them enough political clout to put an end to political stagnation and Government stops.? For this reason, he was able to rescue humanity from the threat of environmental disaster and the threat of financial collapse. What happens if this new demographic, saving wonders in the rescue of humanity from a disaster after another and brought the joy of living in a world reasonably Pacific, where resources were available so that everybody could prosper? Of course this new race would have to maintain jobs, save money, buy quality products and see doctors and dentists to keep the economy strong.

Nice concept. But where human capacity and that spark of creativity end, without the possibility of failure or bad decisions? Worse still, what happens if the race of androids arrived at a crossroads and went wrong? Thus, humanity would have to make a speedy recovery and perhaps they only have to solve problems that were preventing first. Stanley Gerson
